Lisa B. Evans is a Ceramic Artist living and working on the coast of Brunswick, Maine with her partner, Jeffrey, and two big dogs, Caly and Hildi. Ceramics has been her primary artistic focus for the past 15+ years but truly began as a child mesmerized by the demonstrating potters at the Starving Artist's Shows in Fort Worth while her mother, a painter, tended her own showing.
Lisa's work has a truly unique quality and appearance that sets it apart from other ceramics. The forms and surfaces are closely intertwined with both her call and response’ style of throwing, inclusion of natural materials and firing methods. Lisa works primarily in porcelain with foraged 'wild iron' added into the clay body. Surfaces are matte finished with reactive colorants such as cobalt and traditional Shino and celadon glazes. All her work is fired at her studio in a gas reduction kiln to cone 11. It is fully vitrified and food safe unless otherwise noted.
