This piece, Aggregate, is made up of 144 painted and found paper collages made over a period of five years. Each piece is either a small part of a larger failed work or a small idea about color or materials that I wanted to hold on to. Working on many small things to create something large is a consistent theme in my work. Early on, I decided that Aggregate would be a living and ever changing piece; individual pieces can come and go but the integrity of the whole piece is still intact. Each installation is a new opportunity for rearrangement, growth, creating connections between pieces, additions, and letting go.
