I have been an artist all of my life. I am an ASID Interior Designer, Painter, Photographer, and Fiber Artist. My technique - Thread Stories - is a process based on printing my photographs on fabric and creating a realistic representation of the subject in thread. The images are covered 100% in thread. If I am creating a large piece of art, I may have over 150 hours in the piece and over 250 colors of thread.
I am an Encaustic artist. The contrast between smooth wax and textured thread involves the viewers eye, bringing them into the art story being told.
I paint using oils and acrylics. I paint portraits as well as still life art. My art is based on realism.
My Contemporary Fiber Structures are based on Japanese and Chinese Arts. I include Washi paper, Katagami, Shashiko and Chinese Brushstroke in my art. I work in two and three-dimensional forms.
I have been exhibited in Europe, The United States, Australia, and Asia. My work has been exhibited in Museums and three times at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
