Q&A

How do your pieces come to life? Tell us one interesting thing about your creative process?

"Color is often the driving factor behind a new series or work. I pull color schemes from everywhere: Photography, clothing, paint chips from Home Depot. I play until I find a color scheme that speaks to me, and then I start painting."

Q&A

What do you want people to do or feel when they encounter your creations?

"I want the viewer to feel uplifted by the colors and composition of my work. I want them to pause and look at it, and be able to identify a feeling of satisfaction on what the piece contributes to the space: Peace, Calmness, Balance, and Joy."

Q&A

What is your favorite material to work with?

"I love working with paint of any kind because it is so forgiving. As someone who is not a perfectionist this resonates with me and I love being able to use a material that allows play and experimentation. Water-based paints like watercolor and acrylic are currently my favorite as I enjoy experimenting with water/paint ratios and seeing what I can create with paint of different consistencies."
