Stacks of poplar rounds topped with a whimsical pleated shade. Each individual Ziggy lamp is a bit different because the wood colors vary, from light and clear like maple to warm brown to olivey green. These remind me of layers of sand and earth. Ziggy Medium is 25" tall with the drum shade shown.

Handmade Objects for the Home

Trained as an industrial designer—with years designing for industry powerhouses like West Elm and David Weeks—Amy's work is the result of an intentional spontaneity that allows the concepts and processes of each piece to inform the final product. Each piece starts with a sketch, followed by a 3D model, glaze trials, technical drawings and, of course, numerous failed attempts.
After years of working exclusively in clay, Perch Objects has recently begun revisiting other materials — namely brass, concrete and wood — embracing a more experimental approach to the process.
