NOTES FROM THE ARTIST
"Those yellow trees in fall have a light of their own - they don't need any help from a bright sun. With that in mind, I set out to create a scene with the yellow leaves functioning as the quiet actors. Putting them against a greyed-down backdrop allowed the various yellow tones to fully come forth and put the entire painting into motion. As it often happens, I was almost finished when I noticed something I hadn’t seen before. This time, it was what appeared to be a breeze moving through. I was trying to create interesting forms, but I was happy to find the wind visually evident, and the title carried that forward." - Ken Elliott
