The Wool Gathering Slipper Chairs, one-of-a-kind interior piece, from a series of four.
The term ‘wool-gathering’ implies a kind of daydreaming—and what better place to while away the hours than in this rich seat of luxurious & cozy comfort? A seat of rich, deep wool staple in shades of ivory & chocolate—plush, textural & 100% natural, tanned in San Francisco using a chromium-free process. Jacob sheep hide originates from a small family ranch in Oregon.
This chair, #3, has dark wash denim, pieced together with other dark wash sections, and then the light wash contrast selvage stripe at back. Ebony stain legs.
The wildness of the shearling is juxtaposed by the tailored & pieced Levi’s Red Tab denim at sides & back.
Exposed seams, selvage edge stripe and a mix of washes add dimension and detail that celebrate the upcycled sensibilities of the design.
A one-of-a-kind in series of four. Upholstered by a small upholstery team in San Francisco. Slipper chair is vintage, circa 1968 and was purchased from an auction house in Oakland, California.
