Wide Open Walls Mural Festival - Sacramento, California
The Wide Open Walls Mural Festival in Sacramento, California was created as a means of beautifying the community centered around Del Paso Boulevard. Forty artists–some of the biggest names in the street-art/muralist community–were invited to participate in the event. The community is widely ethnically and culturally diverse, and Shane wanted the wall he would be painting on to reflect the beauty of that diversity. Shane chose four models of African descent to be featured in the one-hundred-foot-long by thirty-foot-tall mural, which was painted using a combination of acrylic and spray paints. Shane also incorporated stylized florals and geometric shapes that add a sense of vibrancy to the piece.
