Jones Sign was engaged to design, engineer, permit, fabricate, and install a 50-ft tall billboard at White Stone Station mixed-use development in Menomonee Falls, WI. The billboard is a double-faced 16mm full-color digital billboard with custom architectural design. It was installed on a sloped grade next to a retention pond with a 60-ton crane. There are specific municipal, state, and federal criteria related to off-premise signage. The most pertinent being parcels to host this electronic messaging center had to be either zoned commercial or industrial prior to September 1, 1959, and remain similarly zoned today, or have been part of a corporate boundary prior to the aforementioned date, and are zoned commercial or industrial. The White Stone Station development is a large mixed-use destination, zoned planned unit development, which allows for a variety of land uses. The letter of the law states the only acceptable zoning districts are commercial or industrial, it was important to gather the required documentation showing this strict criterion was met.
