With my abstract art pieces I seek to create in the eye of the viewer a raw emotion to the point where you don’t exactly know how to express what you’re looking at, but you deeply feel it in your soul.

I’m an abstract mixed media artist.
I’m influenced by the colors and energy of my life and the life around me; nature, my family, my life of travels and the humans I meet, the countries I lived in and the ones I’ve visited… whether the source of laughs or tears, I try to absorb and depict them whole.

I seek to create abstract art pieces as an exercise of letting go; letting go of the flow of my emotions and the viewer’s emotions; to the point where you don’t exactly know how to express what you’re looking at, but you deeply feel it in your soul.

As the viewer, I want you to feel that raw emotion, that energy, and how it interacts with everything around us. My art doesn't have to necessarily be something you already know or are able to figure out. Don't think too much and don't try to intellectualize art too much. The raw is what it is about. No superfluous qualifiers, just a true emotion. This is the beauty of the abstract when the viewer explores in the art piece what the artist has defined. That's how I would like the viewer to see my art.

Be spontaneous!

Born in France and raised in multiple countries of Africa, art has always been part of Swann’s education. That’s really when she was a student in France that she began to paint for herself. Using big advertising cardboards found on the sidewalks, she was already adept at mixed media.

She lived a few years in France and England and a long time in Montreal (Canada). She is now living in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Being an artist is what defines her. Swann paints in an abstract style, in acrylics, using multiple layers to enhance the texture, manipulating the stunning effects of the resin, and applying her creativity to those different mediums.

She has participated in multiple individual and group exhibitions and her art is part of private and corporate collections from the USA to Europe, Canada, and Asia.

She painted a heart sculpture for the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation. After being publicly shown in 2019 at Union Square, San Francisco, it is now featured on the Genentech Campus.
