In my wire work I strive for Amplification through Simplification, as described by the comic theorist Scott McCloud. Drawing from mid century modern and the feeling of Matisse and Picasso, I combine aesthetic investigation with the feeling and flow of Barry McGee and Parra. Modern and contemporary art, street art, manga, comics, and more influence my practice.
Standing in space, Untitled (YELLOW) will bounce gently in the breeze. 1/4" hot rolled steel, torch bent and welded by hand by me right here in Los Angeles. Powdercoated finish.
