This vase, handmade in San Diego, is a reflection of the environment in which it was made. A tactile meditation on balance. Fluidity, looseness, and authentic expression combine with the rigidity and technical mastery necessary to complete such a form. Similar to the natural world that surrounds it, and the artist whose hands shape it, the result is a form that walks a tightrope. Teetering carefully between expression muddled or overstated. The form is meant as an active meditation.
