What is time? An indefinite continued progress of existence and events that occur in an apparently irreversible succession from the past, through the present, into the future? Is it an illusion? One of our naive and imperfect perceptions? how memory is connected with time? What if we could travel in time? Or if past and present and future could be reordered?
This portrait depicts 2 women “melted” together. On the left hand side you can see a man from the XV century (Man in oriental clothing - Rembrandt 1635), on the right hand side, Spencer Tracy and in the center the mix of the 2 images. The idea is that time is a very tricky thing especially when it is filtered through our memories. In our mind past and present are mixed together, there isn’t an order and we can ‘travel’ from one to the other back and forth as well as we can see these 2 men, coming from different moment in time, when we move from left to right and viceversa.
original digital artwork printed on reused paper from books, magazines or catalogues and folded in a herringbone origami design. Printed in a limited version of only 3, each one unique and original. Signed and numbered with a Certificate of authenticity.
594 x 841 x 42 mm - framed in a clear acrylic double tray box
