I create art that celebrates being different and unique.

Leah Nadeau is a contemporary abstract fine artist living in the Seattle Metropolitan area. She is originally from Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Nadeau’s vibrant artworks combine geometric abstraction, energetic color stories, loose brushstrokes, and clean linework. Her work is inspired by travel, architecture, her film studies, and time periods in culture and design such as the German Expressionist Movement, the Art Deco Movement, and the Mid-Century Modern Era.

Nadeau is a self-taught artist, that went to school for media & film studies in San Francisco and then Wales, UK. It was during her schooling that she realized her passion for abstract art and color theory. In college, she focused on Media Studies but nurtured a growing fascination with the abstract expressionist painters of the mid-century. She would go on to pursue a Masters of Film Theory degree, and the inspiration gleaned from her studies encouraged her to pick up a brush and paint every day.

Her works have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions in multiple states. Most recently, two of her works were purchased for permanent display in the Henry Ford Health Center Cancer Pavilion in Detroit, Michigan. In the past, she has co-authored a children’s book, created an adult coloring book, and is the artist in residence for Ferlito’s in Grosse Pointe. Nadeau has also created public art that is permanently displayed in the city of Grosse Pointe, Michigan.

In addition to her passion for creating art, she also loves spending time with her nieces, watching and analyzing movies, and advocating for mental health awareness, climate change, and social justice. Nadeau currently resides in Seattle where she paints in her home studio daily.
