Ecologically Conscious Artwork Created from Upcycled Materials

Tracy Penn is an environmental artist working in encaustic and found material. She works with upcycled material to give a second life to the discarded and to raise awareness of climate change.

Tracy did her artistic training at the Art Students League of New York, the International Center of Photography, and the New York School for Interior Design. In addition, she has worked with highly regarded artists to learn the nuance of encaustic.

In a previous life Tracy worked in marketing at the Museum of Modern Art and museum education at the Solomon R. Guggenheim. She has a master’s degree in Visual Arts Administration from New York University.

Tracy has been accepted to the Chateau d'Orquevaux Artist Residency, in Orquevaux, France, for 2021-2022 and was awarded The Denis Diderot A-i-R Grant.

She also curates’ exhibitions in support of the environment. In 2021, Tracy curated an exhibition on Artsy, Art for Environmental and Climate Justice. In 2020, she curated a show for the Art Gowanus ArtWalk, UPCYCLING: Transforming the Discarded into Art.

Tracy works and lives in Brooklyn, New York.
