It was such a treat to receive a “thank you!! We love it” email with speedy photographs of a recent artwork commission up and in situ in a very glamorous modern Miami bedroom. I loved creating this piece specifically to fit this space with whites, silvers, 24k gold leaf, and one special butterfly to represent and remember a lost loved one. It is a very special, touching commission for a spectacular bedroom.
The Great Escape design translates so well in so many sizes and colour ways. This is my classic design in whites, sheens, glitters, 24k gold and silver leaf butterflies. Whether finally escaping the confines of their chrysalis for their first flight or escaping colder climates on their annual butterfly migration to warmer shores, I wanted to convey a sense of both freedom and chaos whilst ironically also creating an artwork with a sense of peace and calm.
The 3-dimensional aspect creates beautiful shadows which give the artwork a real sense of movement – a life of its own – and changes throughout the day in changing light situations. I have used gorgeous papers, many with sheens and glitters & multiple 24crt gold leaf butterflies which adds to this effect and gives it sparkle and preciousness. Each piece is created to order and is unique & can usually be delivered within 2-6 weeks depending on the size ordered – I will keep you fully updated.
