#2 in the "Fluid" series *THERE ARE 3 OTHER PIECES IN THIS SERIES

Melissa Mary Jenkins is an abstract artist and natural ink maker based both in Erin and Bancroft, Ontario. Melissa’s abstract work reflects the strong pull of the natural world encircling her. She “thinks in paintings” and crafting ink from her natural surroundings creates a full circle experience for Melissa.

“The true essence of beauty is found in the flow of imperfection.” – Melissa Mary Jenkins

The "Fluid" series celebrates the serendipitous fluidity of natural inks and the freedom found in leaning into “the flow.” The lines signify how freedom can also be found in the messiness of imperfection.

Melissa crafted this greyish-brown ink from choke cherries that she foraged in the winter and then transformed into ink in her old stone farmhouse kitchen. This painting began with layers of this ink and then she added in imperfect lines with a dip pen and India ink.
This fine art print is printed on beautifully textured, thick watercolour paper by a local printing company. The Watercolor Paper details are as follows:
