Fifteen cast glass spheres. The Birth of Venus is an installation about strength and precariousness, the locus of beauty and storm, the source of calm and turmoil.
The unusual scale is a fundamental factor of the installation. It consists of 15 translucent cast glass spheres (32”, 24” and 16” diameter).
As if originated from within the waters and later dispersed on the ground it is now ready to generate from its labile body. Its undeniable sensuality and porous boundaries give a sense of precariousness. The translucent spheres sparkle in the light of the sun activating their space and surroundings. Thus, our perception of the environment is enhanced. Their shine and apparent immateriality confer lightness and an organic quality to the group. The daylight will shift colors and reflections along with the passing weather. The Birth of Venus merges quietly with its site.
