This piece was inspired by Bing Yun, a Chinese painter during the Qianlong era, known for her thin and delicate "boneless" painting technique, which often featured birds and flowers. Featuring a textured cream backdrop, white and pink flowers, and delicately patterned stems; this piece aims to bring an airy femininity to any space it is in. In particular, as a Chinese-Canadian artist, I feel a particular connection to this piece as not much (if any) traditional Chinese artwork is mentioned in mainstream history.
