The original Teahupo’o is 8ft long and was sculpted in luxury concrete; as such, it was unique and never to be replicated. However, life has its way of opening doors and changing minds, so Teahupo’o is now being issued as the first of a series of three limited edition casts in bronze. Staj is a master concrete craftsman so it was a natural medium for him to effortlessly explore and develop the form language of Teahupo’o. Concrete is an incredibly technical medium to work in with unique capabilities and restrictions; all of which were strong influence to the emergence of Teahupo’o.

Since all sculptures are created to match your desires they can be cast out of concrete, resin, stainless steel, bronze, silver, gold or platinum. As these raw materials vary daily in their costs, pricing will be quoted for your desired material at it's current market rate at time of purchase.

Ashima Collective, Limitless Creativity and Execution

The Ashima Collective exists at the intersection of art and design. A group of artists, designers and craftsmen that are passionate about making artifacts of life borne of material and function. Art is an amazing thing that allows us to explore the facets of life that are not clear or easily understood. Design, on the other hand, helps us make sense of life’s processes and apply that acuity in tangible ways. Often these two disciplines appear to be at odds with one another, but we do not believe that this has to be. We find that these two disciplines compliment each other beautifully. Our work is an investigation of this relationship.
