Accent velvet chair, shown here in violet sky

Chair dressed in crisp velvet upholstery on a simple arched frame in stainless steel. Finding a delicate softness within its stark minimalism and pure geometric form, the SW velvet chair is both striking in its architecture and subtle in its quiet poise.

The velvet chair is shown here in fabric colors violet sky which is a cool, light lilac and cobalt blue which is an electric, denim blue. Other colors in this velvet fabric or COM fabrics are available on request.

Collaborative studio exploring softness in furniture and home objects

Soft-geometry, established in 2019 by Indian designers Utharaa L Zacharias and Palaash Chaudhary, creates collectible furniture and objects that serve as poignant reflections on the universal yearning for softness in an often harsh world. With the narrative backdrop of Zacharias and Chaudhary’s own experiences of living and working between cultures in India and the US, soft-geometry’s objects explore the suspension between contemporary geometries and ritualistic hand-building inspired by Indian craft traditions.

Graduates of the Savannah College of Art & Design, Zacharias and Chaudhary started their collaborative practice after completing their Masters in Furniture and Industrial Design, respectively. Their unique pursuit of softness, intersecting contemporary design with a uniquely Indian narrative, has garnered recognition, including the acquisition of their work by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art to their Permanent Collection, being named in Wallpaper Magazine's USA 300 List, Forbes India's 30 Under 30, Phaidon’s Woman-Made, and inclusion in Sight Unseen's American Design Hot List.
