About Monica Ord
Monica was born in Los Angeles California. In her early years, she developed a deep love of art, interior design and architecture. She was torn between wanting to create beauty and a strong desire to be in a field that helps people. Monica followed her desire and ended up travelling to different countries as the Vice President of a biomedical company developing promising medical treatments for AIDS and Cancer patients for 12 years. She spent five of those years flying between California and South Africa and working hand in hand with “end stage” AIDS patients and loving every second of her job. She witnessed such amazing beauty, love and resilience, even in such dire circumstances.
Monica then had a fortunate introduction to an Inuit elder from the Arctic. She ended up raising funding from JP Dejoria and Richard Branson to produce a climate change feature film with the Inuit elder as the main character, starring Dakota Johnson and others. It completely reignited her love for art and made her realize how she truly missed expressing her artistic side. As fate would have it, she was then diagnosed with a rare disease and became very ill and was forced to stop working. As difficult as it’s been, it’s brought her full circle to her original love of art.
And she has never been happier or more fulfilled
Monica is now creating art full time and resides in Los Angeles. She is inspired to add the depth of her life experiences into the art that she creates. She feels incredibly grateful to be able to do what she is doing now. She lives her life in appreciation for each and every person that she can share her work with.
