A transformer is being placed on the base (ingeniously hidden from sight) that alters the 110v to 220V so as for light bulbs in leaf of Gold/ Silver / Copper to work properly in countries with an electrical supply of 110V. The cables are exactly the same all over the globe either the voltage is 220V or 110V.
