In creating this piece, my motivation was to capture motion and emotion by using oil pigments to traverse the boundary between the tangible and the ethereal. Somewhere between expressionism and semi-abstraction, I’ve symbolically woven a tapestry of nature. The artwork is a dynamic conversation of color and form, aimed to resonate with the unknown and the unspoken. It conveys pure atmosphere energy.
As shown in associated photos, this work can be rotated 90 degrees clockwise for an alternative display. 20”x40”x1.75”, pigmented inks and oil pigments on cradled wood panel. The pulse of nature was inspiration fore this painting of movement and spirit. This abstract narrative tell a non-linear story influenced not by the physics of the waking world, but a flight of spirit.

Soulful artist inspired by mythologies, the natural world and what is perceived and beyond perception.

Growing up in Southeastern Louisiana, AnnMarie LeBlanc was exposed early on to a rich life of storytelling, a blending of cultures and languages, regional lore, and history. Intrigued by archetypal subjects, cross-cultural mythologies, and by what is perceived and what is beyond perception, LeBlanc's art often focuses on subjects from the natural world such as the transformations that happen below the surfaces of the earth and sea as well as the skies above. An additional theme is the concept of the sanctuary of the heart, mind and spirit. For this artist that place is most often found both in nature and when engaged in creating.

LeBlanc has an extensive national and international exhibition record. Her works are included in numerous private and corporate collections in the US and abroad. A former university professor of art and design, she currently lives in Western North Carolina with her husband and two canine companions. LeBlanc holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green State University, a Master of Arts degree from Purdue University, a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Louisiana State University and post-graduate studies at University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her academic areas of expertise include traditional and digital media, color theory and history of art and design.
