The Spoke Chair balances round with square, thick with thin, above with below to create an eye-catching view from every angle. The textured, hand-hewn center spindle unites lower stretcher to upper backrest with tapered + wedged thru-tenon joinery. I designed the Spoke Chair as an accent/occasional chair, but with a few changes it could sit perfect around a dining table. Inquire for custom orders.

Design + Craft

Brendan Barrett is a designer and craftsperson focused on releasing small collections of handmade wood furniture and decorative objects. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, he learned traditional fine woodworking in New Mexico, and studied furniture design in Minnesota. Currently calling Minneapolis home, he opened his studio doors there in 2019. He believes the craft process embeds both a human and material narrative within things, making them not only useful to us but meaningful to us as well.

Brendan has a BFA in Furniture Design from Minneapolis College of Art and Design and an AA in Professional Crafts from Santa Fe Community College. He was recognized as a 2019 Windgate-Lamar Fellow with the Center for Craft, and has received support from CERF+, Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, and the Minnesota State Arts Board.
