This piece is made of thousand discarded triangles, sourced from a laser cutting company producing build-your-own rocket kits for children. It one of numerous works designed utilizing scrap material of the so-called maker movement.

Each spiral is 12" in diameter and has a variable length.

I make the world look different

Susannah Mira earned a master’s degree in Environmental Art at Aalto University in Helsinki in 2008. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally, and has been awarded close to two dozen artist residencies throughout North America, including opportunities at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity and McColl Center for Art + Innovation. Born in San Francisco and raised in a nondescript Philadelphia suburb, she has lived and worked in Houston since 2013.
