Pooja Pawaskar is a sculptor born in Mumbai, India, and now based in Ottawa, Canada. She holds a Bachelor’s in Architecture from Mumbai University and a Master’s in Furniture Design from SCAD, USA. Her creative journey began with structured design, but over time, it has evolved into a practice rooted in self-expression, individuality, and presence.

Pooja works primarily with wood and plaster—materials that reflect the unpredictability and beauty of imperfection. Whether working with the organic grain of reclaimed wood or the delicate strength of plaster, she embraces the character of each medium, allowing it to guide her process. Her work spans sculptures and wall-mounted pieces, creating moments of connection between form, material, and viewer.

Her latest collection, "In Full View," marks an exciting chapter, blending freestanding sculptures with wall installations. Through this evolving body of work, she explores themes of visibility and authenticity, making space for both the material and the self to coexist without limitation.

Pooja’s work has been exhibited in ‘Upon Further Reflection’ at NYCxDESIGN 2023, ‘Connection with Trees’ at DesignTO 2024, and the ‘Grounding’ group exhibition at Ki Smith Gallery in NYC 2024. Through her art, she invites reflection on the beauty found in imperfection and encourages viewers to embrace their own journey with openness and acceptance.
