This painting reflects the artist’s observation, reflection and intuition regarding the natural world. The oil on cradled wood panel was inspired by the elements of earth, air, fire, and water, as well as what is beyond human perceptions. Additional influence is the solstice - celebrating the seasonal wonder as earth rotates on its celestial axis.

Soulful artist inspired by mythologies, the natural world and what is perceived and beyond perception.

Growing up in Southeastern Louisiana, AnnMarie LeBlanc was exposed early on to a rich life of storytelling, a blending of cultures and languages, regional lore, and history. Intrigued by archetypal subjects, cross-cultural mythologies, and by what is perceived and what is beyond perception, LeBlanc's art often focuses on subjects from the natural world such as the transformations that happen below the surfaces of the earth and sea as well as the skies above. An additional theme is the concept of the sanctuary of the heart, mind and spirit. For this artist that place is most often found both in nature and when engaged in creating.

LeBlanc has an extensive national and international exhibition record. Her works are included in numerous private and corporate collections in the US and abroad. A former university professor of art and design, she currently lives in Western North Carolina with her husband and two canine companions. LeBlanc holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green State University, a Master of Arts degree from Purdue University, a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Louisiana State University and post-graduate studies at University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her academic areas of expertise include traditional and digital media, color theory and history of art and design.
