When is the last time you just sat in the grass, leaning back with your eyes up to the clouds? I find that as much as I love this experience, I often find myself quickly engrossed in all the little things happening that erode my pleasure. The cool grass suddenly feels wet, the hum of the insects become an annoying buzz in my ear, and I suddenly notice every invisible rock and stick poking my back. Rest is more than just sitting isn’t it? It is a state of mind; a choice to ignore some things and allow the nothingness. “Sit With Me” is a moment of rest, to stop striving, toiling, and hustling, and instead trust the One who is greater.
