This handmade macraweave (macrame and weaving style) wall art is a modern textured depiction of the ancient Sisyphus myth. Featuring a 3 dimensional flaming red "stone" while the Sisyphus character is made of gold colored wire, this mixed media piece incorporates 11 materials to create a truly unique work by fiber artist, Christina Renee. A Certificate of Authenticity is included. The wood has Christina Renee’s burned signature and dedication on the back. Custom handmade steel brackets are included for mounting.
I AM SISYPHUS, is the third piece in the Bekhterev Series. All of the pieces in this series were inspired by Christina Renee’s chronic disease challenges. Christina Renee is currently wheelchair bound and deals with the roller coaster nature of autoimmune disease by weaving it into beautiful art pieces. She hopes this piece connects with someone who has faced a Sisyphus type challenge in their life and that this artwork will bring them hope and inspiration to keep pushing the stone up the mountain.
