The natural brushed-finish, stainless-steel dogs were created and constructed by public art sculptor Jim Collins. They will represent 11 different breeds designed on a scale of one-and-a-half times life size. The largest dog, a Mastiff, is 4 feet tall. Sculptures weigh 75 to 300 pounds.
"Public art and art in general makes a grouping of homes a community," Collins said. "It shows visitors and residents alike that this is a community of quality and understanding of the human need and traditions. A place of beauty that causes discussions and appreciation of life."
