Sarah has been inspired by form, texture, color, and interior design her whole life. She grew up in Northern Indiana and spent lots of time on the shores of Lake Michigan, as well as vacationing with her family fishing in Wisconsin, and on the Gulf Coast beaches of Florida. It was in these places that she was always collecting things from nature that would later influence her designs. Being so close to the city of Chicago, she frequented The Art Institute of Chicago. That experience cemented her appreciation for how art can elevate your surroundings, and create beauty in your home. Her hobbies have always been in the handmade arts, including sewing, weaving, embroidery, sketching, painting, with her most concentrated endeavors in ceramics. She received her B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from The University of Illinois. After working in child protective services, she transitioned into the interior design business as a District Sales Manager for a company in the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, and enjoyed working with the design community in that industry. Sarah then moved to the Los Angeles area, where she raised her family, and began her ceramics business. For the past 30 years, Sarah's art has been ever changing. Always trying new techniques, she'll tell you, "Whenever I learn something new about ceramics, I rediscover my love for this art form".
