Wheel thrown and altered porcelain wall sculpture finished with celadon glaze. Porcelain the most delicate clay to work with which results in partially translucent and luminous forms that are vastly stronger than they appear. This piece is twenty by eleven by four and one half inches. This is the largest single piece work in this collection. All wall pieces are one of a kind.
This series is inspired by living in Thailand for over a decade. While these works do not resemble traditional Thai ceramics, they respond to the landscapes. Living next to the river and spending time on the seaside and being enveloped by an indescribable feeling, these works are a process of recreating that emotion.
Seapiece II was a successful experiment in taking midfire porcelain to high fire temperatures. The result is the most translucent piece to date with a more transparent glaze finish that shows the cool toned white of the porcelain which pools in an aqua blue.
All necessary hanging hardware is included along with detailed hanging instructions and the hardware is discreetly hidden by design. Only a pencil, drill and level required for installation, no wall stud necessary. All items are double boxed, and shipped with custom foam insulation and are fully insured for shipping.
