The fluidity of line meandering through deep layers of watery pooling resin is my visual language. I am an experimenter at heart. What you will find here are a collection of variations on the theme of water and memory.

Carla Goldberg was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Palm Springs with her grandparents who were supporters of the arts. She moved to New York after finishing her Masters in Fine Art at MICA Mount Royal School of Art. She and her husband Stephen raised their two daughters in the Hudson Valley, NY. Now that their kiddos have flown the coop and wanting a lifestyle change, she and her husband recently moved to the beach in Milford, Connecticut just as the pandemic began. She has built a new studio there and continues to create her water themed artworks.
Carla is a mixed-media artist, independent curator and former director of Skylight Gallery NYC and BAU Gallery. Her creations are varied in style but keep to two signatures; water themed art and the use of resin to reflect the idea of water. Through years of exploring, she has honed in on her unique processes. The fluidity of line meandering through deep layers of watery pooling resin is her visual language. She is an experimenter at heart. What you will find in her works are a collection of variations on the theme of water and memory.

Carla's works have been exhibited nationally and internationally including MoMA Wales The Tabernacle, Hammond Museum, the Dorsky Museum, The American Embassy in Turkey, UConn, Chase Edwards Bridgehampton, Denise Bibro NYC, Anna 25 Berlin, Brenda Taylor Boston, and Joan McLoughlin San Francisco.
Carla’s works are permanently installed in numerous public spaces including The Art Museum at Southwestern Minnesota State University, a 21’ foot triptych for the Marriott ‪Waikiki Beach lobby, ‬The Breakers Palm Beach, Children’s Hospital Cincinnati, the Westin Cancun and three giant glass walls for the outdoor solarium on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines “Harmony of the Seas”, the worlds largest passenger ship. She is the 2019 recipient of the ADC Summit Award and the 2014 recipient of the Connecticut Sea Grant, a partnership between UConn and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for her Sea Foam Sculptural drawings.
