Part of my new “Water” series, this artwork plunges to the depths of the deepest sea. Using teal blues, seaweed greens, and hints of midnight blues, with pops of fluorescent pink. The mixtures of acrylic colors blend to create an underwater fantasy world.
Recently, I had the good fortune to be given a choice of a freebie book at Barnes and Noble, for being a member. A book of nature poems was an offering I couldn’t pass up! A poem by Katherine Mansfield, called, “Sea Song” caught my eye, and these few lines in particular. The verbiage just flowed so perfectly.
After painting the lines of words with a paint brush, I hand printed them using a white paint pen underneath each line, using a sans serif font in contrast to the flourishing brush strokes. They’re almost swimming across the canvas. A few strips of metal leaf, placed around surface help glide the eye around.
A dreamy setting just waiting for you to bring it home.
