Pile: Low
About: The softest and velvety wool you've ever felt. These pieces from this village are known for having the most lanolin-rich wool, lambswool. The wool used from the stomach of the sheep where the sun doesn't dry it out as much, keeping it natural, untouched, and soft to the hand and feet. This is a sensational old royal Persian design with the vase and the beautiful flowers growing and evolving out of it. There is such movement in this piece, a true weaver and artist created this beauty. This is a real poetic rug that also contains a phenomenal color palette - true to this village as they have mastered a handful of color dyes - deep indigos, rich salmon and blush, soft pinks and rose, very earthy mocha and espresso browns, soft honey, and beige - these are the Sarouk colors. Very finely woven for those that appreciate the quality and workmanship of the artist. A wonderful age-related condition, nice patina, and one of the corners is worn a bit but we've secured it to prevent from unraveling. This is a real gem, you will LOVE this rug and no one will have anything like this combination of design, quality, colors, and softness.
This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one available. Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.
We always recommend a high-quality custom cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding.
