Name: Roman
Size: 3.5 x 12.6
Age: Antique
Pile: Low
About: Incredibly old and infinitely nomadic antique runner from the mountains that are known for such masterpieces! You can't ignore the rich and attractive red and the hundreds of variations of reds it offers - from rust to deep rich attractive red and even softer still - the beige and mocha tones really ground the rug and the dark espresso black oxidizing in front of our eyes over the years of this rugs existence is a true testament to just how real and raw this piece is. The quad-medallion in approximately the same shape but all distinctly different sizes offers that asymmetrical goodness we are always searching for in these gems!! The blues are sensational, the greens that poke through, the Burgandy madder-root border, and the Bakshayesh border are iconic and ancient, and there is no other motif arguably as symbolic as the arrow - which you will find all throughout this piece. Signifying direction, intention, and potentially the straightest pathway to Heaven, similar to the Tree of Life motifs we love. This piece is nicely worn with age-related wear and has actually been professionally shortened which is impossible to tell from an untrained eye. You will LOVE this rug if you're looking for a tribal rug to add that ancient soul and mystical energy to elevate a space with timeless art!
This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one available.
Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.
We always recommend a high-quality custom cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding.
