Name: MASTERPIECE Antique Rug | Fine Lamb Wool w/ Silk Highlights from the Caspian Sea

Age: Antique to Semi-Antique, Late Half to Early Half of the 20th century, C. 1950's
Pile: Low/Medium tight pile, unbelievably fine weave (EASILY OVER 500,000 KNOTS). The Providence is from an extremely wealthy European family, it was the prized-possession heirloom piece as the focal point in the living room near large windows overseeing a large bluff in the countryside.
About: This is a true masterpiece; unbelievably fine weave, one of the best in the world from arguably the greatest and most important rug-weaving city on the face of the earth!! This piece is woven meticulously one tiny knot at a time taking nearly 12-18 months to construct!! With easily over 500K knots of pure lamb wool and subtle silk highlights - this is a true piece of art. On top of its beauty, it is bulletproof. The tightness and density of the knots are so compact that this rug can take any sort of furniture, any traffic, and any amount of wear and tear you give it. The colors are iconic black, charcoal, ivory, beige, gold, and copper with rare sage and olive greens, subtle mauve, cranberry, burgundy, soft blue, earthy camel, espresso, chestnut, and more. Without a doubt amongst the most iconic design filled to the brim with tight "Mahi" or fish designs circling a diamond-shaped motif with a flower head that according to old Persian folklore, represents two fish swimming around the world representing balance, amongst other things. Elongated Scalloped Pendant Medallion with Architectural Finials protruding out of it, and all surrounded by a sophisticated interpretation of the ancient Serapi border with large "Turtle" or Samovar motifs flanked by serrated leaves that double as the Herati Fish - absolutely stunning. This piece is Semi-Antique, nearly impossible to find in this age and condition these days with the authenticity of being an actual Persian carpet. This piece has been sun-kissed a little muting a bit of some hue down and this is why the price is what it is, otherwise, in mint condition this piece would be nearly double the price. This piece is for the distinct eye that enjoys the beauty in classical art and timeless taste in both color palette and quality. Needless to say, it is very rare to come across the combination of quality, color, authenticity, age, and condition at this price point in old-world carpets like these - this is a true spectacle for the eyes and the soul.
