The concept of the panels is “relationships”. This idea was inspired by the location of the installation, near the library, computer center and lunch room. In these areas, students develop their personal growth as individuals, friends and members of a community.
During a week-long artist residency, students produced 103 painted glass jewels, 60 tooled foil discs and 223 personalized, embellished "little people". I incorporated all of these items into the work and completed the panels with figurative painting to depict the concept of relationships.
