It all began in Bath, the oldest town in North Carolina. Home to coastal plains, rich fields of tobacco, and tales of piracy and early settlement. Surrounded by the history and natural resources of the area. Constantly inspired by ideas of a distant time. In 2015 these interests developed into Raleigh Slabs, reclaiming wood from the old barns and structures of Bath, some dating back to the early 1800s. Wanting to take it a step further, and after a trip to Northern California, an admiration for the history of the Redwood was formed. You can’t put into words the feeling you get when looking at a Redwood, instantly in wonder of its story, age and scale. The connection was instant.
Our standards for design, cultivation, and craft are of the upmost importance here at Raleigh Slabs. Every Redwood we work with is responsibly reclaimed and it has become our mission to preserve these trees through beautiful design. Combining our devotion to conservation and quality, our hope is that Raleigh Slabs can carry on the history and story that each tree has lived.
