Abstract painting of a library with colorful books on a linen canvas
From the Renaissance to the 20th century, the book invites us to dive into the imagination. The artist takes advantage of this by painting books close to geometric abstraction where the viewer is invited to enter this universe.
As always the canvas is worked with a multitude of layers with vibrating hues. Texture is important
Sophie dumont is a French artist and she has been working on the theme of books and libraries since 2016, bringing a different spirit to each new canvas. She multiplies the layers with different shades until the desired shade is obtained.
the artist basically uses the palette knife to paint, blends the colors into each other without really delineating them
the masses of colors overlap, interpenetrate and merge to absorb and reflect light. Contrasts take place: the color imposes itself and withdraws, creating plays of light
She has many collectors all over the world.
The work is framed with an American box in natural or black wood of your choice and a hook is placed at the back of the painting
Framed painting size 31 x 39 cm (12.20 x 15.35")
