I love to create colorful, expressive artwork that brings a feeling of joy and warmth to your space.
I am an artist who creates colorful, expressive artwork in acrylic, oil and mixed media. Working with loose brushstrokes and flowing gestures, my paintings allow the viewer to use their imagination and connect their own dots as to what they interpret. By experimenting with new techniques, I often use unconventional tools that create organic and unpredictable lines and patterns. My paintings usually include many opaque and translucent layers that add texture and reveal the depth and imperfect surprises of what lies underneath the surface. I have a deep love for color and the palette I choose depends on my emotions as I work intuitively. My background in fine art, graphic design and photography also inform my composition and mark making. Memories and music (especially anything featuring a cello) often influence my work, as well as the raw and elegant beauty I notice in nature.
I am grateful to live in the beautiful lakes area of Alexandria, Minnesota with my college sweetheart and handyman husband, along with our two delightful teenage daughters. We love to go for walks and summertime Jeep drives to the beach with our two dogs ... and then come home to snuggle our two cats while watching Napoleon Dynamite. I want my artwork to be a reflection of God's love and grace. Being led by the Spirit, creating with God is my worship and my warfare against darkness. Art has the ability to transform a room. My heart's desire is to have my art brighten your mood and bring a playful air of joy and freedom to your living space.
My work is collected internationally and has been featured in Domino Magazine, Pottery Barn Kids, Minted, and HGTV Magazine.
