Rare and unique glaze makes the exterior of this bowl look and feel like moon craters, while the inside is glass-smooth and fully functional for any use. This piece is perfect for decorating your living or dining room and makes a wonderful conversation starter. It is food-safe, microwavable, and dishwasher-ready for convenient care. Dimensions are 7" wide by 3" tall and can fit in so many spaces easily.

I have hand-made this on the potter's wheel of stoneware and it is very durable. I've had many comments about the finish, especially the exterior surface as it is quite rare to find. The process requires nearly 6 hours of hands-on time, plus 20 hours of kiln firing in 2 separate temperature firings. I hope you enjoy it for many years!

Always original, handmade ceramic art and functional ware

I started ceramics after completing a meaningful career in a technical world. The idea of expressing myself through art was a challenging new idea for me to explore, arising after taking a pottery class at my son's suggestion. I fell in love with the creative process converting clay into something useful, then discovered I had ideas to explore once I developed basic skills on the potter's wheel. Fifteen years later I find that I am deeply committed to this exploration and have learned the delight to find that others value what I create. An active skier, mountain hiker and traveler, I attempt to capture form, color, texture and shadows in my ceramic art. The flow of ideas is sparked from my outdoor adventures and observations. I hope you enjoy the results!
