Free motion machine embroidery is a way of using a sewing machine to creatively build up texture, decoratively apply one surface to another, define areas... limitless possibilities using the lowly sewing thread. These metal framed panels have heavy plastic that I have cut open and then stitched, using a variety of fabrics and fiber art techniques to embellish.
Those initial pieces, when layered, ended up in dynamic, interactive and movable groupings on the wall, perpetually being rearranged into various configurations.
