This lustrous naturally dyed wall hanging will warm your heart and serve as an artistic backdrop for your home. It is hand-crafted from Ceranchia wild silk, a species of silk only found in Madagascar. The silk cocoons are sustainably harvested, ironed flat, and sewn together. Then they are naturally dyed using local plants from our artisans' dye plant garden. The earthy rose brown color is complemented by a gradient of shimmery linen-colored wild silk, which is the silk's undyed natural color.

100% naturally dyed Ceranchia Dense cocoon silk
Handmade from start to finish in Madagascar
Offered in two sizes: 30"x60" or 1x3 meters (39"x118")
Slight variations in size and color due to the handcrafted process
Eco-friendly and Fair Trade Certified
These art pieces were sustainably sourced and made in Madagascar by SEPALIM, a poverty alleviation NGO in northeastern Madagascar that invests in local leadership, community ownership and linking these partners to global markets. 100% of the profits from Tanana Silk are returned to our team in Madagascar.

Hand-crafted in the rainforests of Madagascar, Tanana brings people, nature, and design together. We transform sustainably harvested silk cocoons and raffia fiber into extraordinary products for the home.

Tanana offers hand-crafted home decor made from Madagascar wild silk cocoons & raffia. Originating from the rainforests of Madagascar, each textile is hand-crafted using sustainably sourced raw materials. For our silk pieces, wild silk cocoons are hand-gathered, steamed flat, sewn together, and hand-dyed. For our raffia pieces, the natural fiber is hand-woven on floor looms, sewn together, and hand-dyed.

Our artisan and farmer partners earn a fair wage and use sustainable farming and harvesting practices to preserve their surrounding rainforest, protecting it from deforestation. We transform renewable resources into beautiful and utterly unique products for your home or your art practice.
