"Wine Country Craftsman is just the latest in a long string of the artistic ventures founded by artist Michael Weiss. He began developing his unique vision and skills early in life when his mother, a professional woodworker, fostered his interest in fine craftsmanship, art, and functional design.

Michael further refined his expertise while working for the Walt Disney Company, then went on to found his own first company. There he continued to develop his range while designing custom wine cellars, eclectic bars, and exotic theme rooms.

Michael has always traveled extensively, studying local culture, architecture, and design around the world. This inspired his deep sense of stewardship toward the Earth. Michael has maintained his commitment to the environment and hopefully one day will be able to adopt solar power for his workshop and warehouses. He is regularly seeking out 100% recycled materials, and uses scraps and sawdust in their onsite gardens where they regularly host BBQ's and water gun fights.

With his current company, Wine Country Craftsman, Michael specializes in creating fantastic furniture and decor using century-old grapevines, retired wine barrels, and other upcycled winemaking materials. These designs have attracted snowballing attention and have been showcased on television, in galleries across the country, and in numerous magazines, articles and blogs."
