Pebble Edge Walnut Dining Table, Jonathan Field, unique.
Starts at $14,000
Creation: 10-12 weeks
The Pebble Edge refers to the tabletop that takes its inspiration from the perfect skimming stone found on a beach, a stone that has been smoothed and made tactile by natural forces.
The two pieces of English walnut used for the top are joined along the live edge, the live edge being the side of the tree trunk. this insets the shape of the tree trunk along the length of the tabletop.
The tabletop stands on the new leg design called the Chapel Legs which have a curved architectural form, giving weight to the overall look and design.
For a bespoke sized version using the dark grained walnut used for this table please ask me for details. This walnut also has a considerable amount of ripple, which when sanded and oiled, catches the light as it changes throughout the day.
More information about the commissioning process;
The process begins with an initial discussion to talk through ideas and get a feel for the project. At this stage, you are welcome to visit our workshop in Leyton, East London, or on occasion, a site visit may be appropriate.
Design phase
If your commission is for a bespoke version of a design that is already on my website, I would send you a fixed price plus shipping and if needed a scale drawing to show the proportions of the piece.
For a new design, I would provide sketches and sourced samples and also a design cost estimate for your approval followed by an invoice for the design phase.
Once this design is fully realised in drawings and a specification, I will supply a fixed price proposal for making the piece together with a delivery date.
Production, delivery & payment:
On average making your piece normally takes from eight to ten weeks. If you are in London you are welcome to visit the workshop to see the furniture as it progresses. Before starting, I will ask for a payment of 50% of the making cost, with the balance, plus shipping and insurance becoming due on completion.
I will send you photographs of the finished piece for you to view before shipping, once you are completely happy and the final invoice has been paid I will arrange with the shippers for the collection and estimated delivery date.
The table legs are removed for transportation.
To ensure safe transit, we either deliver and assemble the furniture ourselves or use a fully insured and crated curbside or optional white glove delivery and installation service.
Each piece of my furniture arrives with a :
- A invoice certificate of authenticity and description of the origin of the materials, a record is kept for future reference
- Carved logo inscription, maker’s initials and consecutive making number can be found on the underside
- Care and maintenance instructions.
Please do get back to me if you need more information or anything is not clear.
