48 x 36 acrylic on wood panel with 3" deep painted sides
A smoldering neutral composition of flowers and patterns found in nature that appear somewhat foreign out of their normal setting. I find comfort in repeating natural patterns and decided to throw parsimony to the wind and weave a few together here with flowers, more recognizable forms also found in nature. The lowest pattern is geologic strata formations. Next, the dots are representative of sporangia, the circular spore structures on the underside of fern leaves. The pattern on top is suggestive of both gossamer spiderweb patterns or palm bark husk.
The 3" sides on all of my works are painted as a continuation of the art, so the work is lovely from every angle and framing is not necessary.
