ARTLESS Occidental Table is composed of two supremely strong materials: afrormosia wood and stainless-steel bars, pure and simple. While the ½-inch stainless-steel bars connect the 2-inch afromosia boards together to structure the wood top and help attach the legs, they primarily stabilize the wood as it expands and contracts due to changes in weather. Afrormosia is a West African wood of incredible beauty and durability. We hand-finish the table with an outdoor oil. Each table comes with a cover in our Zig Zag fabric.

ARTLESS Occidental Bench is composed of the same materials as the tables—afromosia wood.

ARTLESS is after the timeless

Alejandro Artigas was born in Mexico City in 1978 to a family of Architects. He is now based in Los Angeles, CA. He studied architecture in Italy, Mexico City and at the prestigious Architectural Association in London, before graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from The Southern California Institute of Architecture, SCI-Arc, in Los Angeles. Before graduating from SCI-Arc he co-founded Gabriela Artigas Jewelry in 2003, and the following year founded ARTLESS Corporation, as an architecture and design practice. Alejandro continued his pursuit of Architecture and in 2008 he graduated with a Masters degree in Advanced Architectural Design from The Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation at Columbia University, GSAPP.

Since 2009 he has been the lead designer for ARTLESS.
