John Morton Thomas was born in Athens, Georgia and grew up in Rochester, New York. He attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. John relocated to Southern California, lived in Santa Monica, Laguna Beach and Palm Springs before settling in Laguna Niguel, California.
